WEST CHESTER, PA— Get ready to step back in time and explore the fascinating history of Chester County with the return of in-person Town Tours and Village Walks in 2022.
These popular tours, offered by the Chester County History Center, provide a unique opportunity to discover the stories of Chester County's Founding Mothers and Fathers. Participants will embark on guided walks through historic towns and villages, learning about the people and events that shaped the county's rich heritage.
Chester County, colloquially known as "Chesco," is a county in southeastern Pennsylvania, located in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area. One of Pennsylvania's three original counties, Chester County was created by William Penn in 1682.
The 2022 Town Tours and Village Walks will feature a variety of themes, including:
- Founding Fathers of Chester County
- Women of Chester County
- The Underground Railroad in Chester County
- Historic Architecture of Chester County
Each tour will be led by an experienced historian and will provide fascinating insights into Chester County's past. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn about local lore, and gain a deeper understanding of the county's historical significance.
