Clippers Fall to Mavericks, Season Ends in Game 6 Blowout
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Dallas Mavericks - Full Game 6 Highlights August 30, 2020 NBA Playoffs
The Los Angeles Clippers' season came to an abrupt end on Sunday night, as they were defeated by the Dallas Mavericks in Game 6 of the Western Conference First Round. The Mavericks led by a whopping 50 points at halftime, setting an NBA record for the largest halftime lead in playoff history. Luka Doncic led the way for the Mavericks with 24 points, while Kawhi Leonard and Paul George combined for just 34 points for the Clippers.
The Clippers were without starting center Ivica Zubac, who was out with a sprained MCL. This forced Montrezl Harrell into the starting lineup, but he was unable to make much of an impact. The Clippers were also out-rebounded by the Mavericks 52-36, which led to a number of second-chance opportunities for Dallas.
The Mavericks will now advance to the Western Conference Semifinals, where they will face the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are the defending NBA champions and will be a tough matchup for the Mavericks. However, the Mavericks have shown that they are capable of anything this season, and they will be looking to make a deep run in the playoffs.
