Sacramento Kings Select Devin Carter with the 13th Pick
Carter Named Big East Player of the Year
Kings Add Talented Guard to Roster
Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento Kings selected Providence guard Devin Carter with the 13th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft on Wednesday night.
Carter, who was named the Big East Player of the Year after producing career-highs of 20.1 points, 6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game, is a versatile guard who can score from anywhere on the court.
"We're thrilled to add Devin to our team," said Kings general manager Monte McNair. "He's a talented young player who has the potential to be a star in this league."
Carter is expected to play a key role for the Kings next season, who are looking to make a playoff run after missing out last year.
The Kings explored a number of options with the 13th pick, but they ultimately decided that Carter was the best player available.
"We're confident that Devin can be a difference-maker for us," said Kings coach Mike Brown. "He has all the tools to be a successful NBA player."
Carter is expected to sign a four-year, $15 million contract with the Kings.
