Veteran forward Gordon Hayward has announced his retirement from the NBA after 14 seasons. Hayward, a former All-Star, played for the Utah Jazz, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
Hayward made the announcement on social media Thursday. He played 72 games in the 2018-19 season, but never reached the 55-game mark in a regular season again. The Hornets traded Hayward to the Indiana Pacers in February 2023.
Hayward averaged 15.2 points per game over the course of his career. He was an All-Star in 2017.
