Match of the Day Line-up: Jermaine Jenas replaces Mark Chapman
Jermaine Jenas has been confirmed as the new permanent pundit on Match of the Day, replacing Mark Chapman.
The former Tottenham and England midfielder will join Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer on the BBC One show from the start of the new season.
Jenas has been a regular guest pundit on Match of the Day in recent seasons, and has also worked as a commentator for BT Sport and ITV.
He is widely respected for his intelligent analysis and articulate delivery, and is seen as a natural successor to Chapman, who left the show earlier this year.
Jenas said: "I'm delighted to be joining Match of the Day as a permanent pundit. It's a dream come true for me.
"I've been a fan of the show since I was a kid, and I've always wanted to be a part of it."
"I can't wait to get started and share my thoughts on the big games and issues in football with the viewers."
BBC Sport's head of football, Mark Chapman, said: "Jermaine is a fantastic addition to the Match of the Day team.
"He's a brilliant analyst, he's articulate and he's got a great sense of humor.
"I know he'll be a hit with the viewers."
Match of the Day is the BBC's flagship football highlights show, and has been on air since 1964.
It is one of the most popular shows on British television, with an average audience of over 5 million viewers.
The show is presented by Gary Lineker, and features analysis from Alan Shearer, Jermaine Jenas, and Danny Murphy.
Match of the Day is broadcast on BBC One every Saturday night.
